The dilemma I've run into w/the latest (1.05) update is that my disk is scratched beyond repair and won't read anymore. Typically there'd be a few days in between where I'd have to use the disk while a patch was made but that was fine.
Long story short, I've had Halo PC since it was released, and have been installing all the updates as they come out, then getting the corresponding patch afterwards. When I used to have a laptop, the chances that I was even near my CDs when I wanted to play were very slim. I think it's ridiculous to have to go and fetch my game CD every time I want to play, especially when nothing actually gets loaded off of the disk. I always use NO-CD patches for all my PC games. There, now that I have made that clear, hopefully this kind of discussion is allowed on here.
